Polo in China is back - at least the Chinese lay claim to polo tradition in their country going back a thousand years.

Though horse racing enthusiasts claim theirs is the king of sports, the description properly refers to the sport of polo. The exact birthplace of polo is unknown, though widely presumed to be in Central Asia prior to 600BC. One theory suggests the game originated in Tibet and, indeed, the word polo comes from porlor, Tibetan for ball. More likely, however, is a Persian beginning as records of the game began turning up as the first Persian Empire took its culture to Egypt, Greece and India around 500BC.
